At Ridgeview College Preparatory High School, we maintain clear policies to ensure a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment for all students. Please review the following policies carefully.

Dress Code

Students are required to wear school uniforms to express individuality through academics, create a professional atmosphere, and minimize bullying.

Bottoms:

  • Shorts/skirts must be no less than 6 inches to the knee
  • No cut-offs, tears, rips, holes, overalls, sweatpants, or pajamas
  • Leggings/tights only under shorts/skirts (6 inches to knee)
  • Bottoms must be appropriate size, worn at waist

Tops:

  • Gray, Black, White, or Orange RCP Polo/shirt with approved RCP logo
  • RCP Hoodie allowed (must be zipped all the way up, no polo required underneath)
  • Solid color long sleeve undershirt allowed under polo

Jackets/Covers:

  • Must have approved RCP logo
  • Hoods off inside building
  • Additional clothing for cold weather must be removed before entering

Special Days:

  • Friday Dress: RCP club/sport T-shirt or post-RCP plan shirt (college, military)
  • Dress Down Fundraiser Days: $1-$2, follow theme
  • Spirit Days: Follow theme, dress decently
  • Game Days: Athletes may wear jerseys (with appropriate undergarment)
  • Field Trips: Appropriate uniform required

Other Rules:

  • No headwear inside (unless medical/religious)
  • No costume attire (unless spirit day)
  • No sandals, slippers, flip flops, Crocs, open-toed shoes
  • No midriff-exposing tops, spaghetti straps, halter-tops, deep cuts
  • No see-through fabric, baggy/saggy pants
  • No clothing with inappropriate messages
  • No gang-related clothing, bandanas
  • No chains, spikes, hazardous jewelry

Formal Dance Dress Code:

  • No midriff dresses
  • Strapless dresses allowed with covering
  • Dresses must go below knee
  • No tennis shoes
  • Non-dress: pants, button-up shirt, tie/bowtie

Attendance Policy

Excused Absences (no documentation needed):

  • School Functions
  • Out of School Suspension

Excused Absences (documentation required):

  • Illness
  • Medical/Dental appointments
  • Legal Situation
  • Family Emergency
  • Wedding or Bereavement
  • Religious Observation
  • College Visit
  • Chronic Illness

Documentation must include: student name, reason, date(s), parent email/signature

Official documentation required for 4+ consecutive days

Tardiness:

Treated as disciplinary issue (Loitering). If more than halfway through class = absent

10 consecutive unexcused absences = withdrawal from school

Cell Phone Policy

Each classroom has a cell phone locker. Students place phones in locker at start of each class.

Cell phones allowed:

  • Before school
  • After school
  • Between classes
  • During lunch

If phone is seen during class:

  • Confiscated and placed in front office locker
  • Referral if student refuses or repeatedly doesn't turn in phone
  • Headphones and earbuds NOT permitted during class

To reach student during class, call front office.

Parking Policy

Requirements to park on campus:

  1. Pay $35.00 online
  2. Complete Parking Permit Submission Form: Click here for form
  3. Have valid Driver's License, Insurance & Registration ready

Rules:

  • Permit must be clearly displayed
  • RCP may inspect vehicle exteriors and interiors (with reasonable suspicion)
  • Failure to provide access = disciplinary action
  • Vehicle may be towed for policy violations
  • Illegal parking (handicap, loading zone) = ticket and possible tow
  • Students cannot go to vehicle during school day (CLOSED CAMPUS)
  • Students may NOT leave for lunch and return
  • Passes may not be sold, borrowed, duplicated, or traded
  • Lost/stolen passes require new purchase
